Routine Appointments

docandchildA number of appointments are available for booking upto one week in advance. Appointments are also available for on the day of booking.

You may see the doctor of your choice by telephoning 0844 477 3530, or calling at the desk to make an appointment on the day the appointment is needed. However, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to see the doctor of your choice as routine appointments are affected by docotrs' holidays, training courses etc.

Urgent Appointments

Please telephone as soon as possible after 8.00am, giving the receptionist some brief details of your condition and you will be given an appointment for the same day, although not necessarily with your usual doctor. When all appointments have been taken, URGENT cases will be given a time to come and wait to be slotted in as an “extra”. Please do not abuse this system - you may cause unnecessary delay to someone whose need is greater.

Cancellations

Please inform us as soon as possible if you cannot attend for your appointment so that it can be given to someone else. You can now cancel your appointment on line through the link on the home page

Long Appointments

If you have a lot to discuss or feel you have a particularly difficult problem, please let the receptionist know when you make your appointment, so that she can allocate extra time. Please remember that one appointment is for one patient only. If you are making an appointment for a cervical smear or for family planning advice, it is helpful if you tell the receptionist so that the relevant forms can be completed in advance. This will help avoid delays to other patients.

Telephone Advice

If you need to speak to a doctor and do not think an appointment is necessary you may book a telephone consultation. A contact number will be asked for and a doctor will ring you at a prearranged time. This saves you the trouble of travelling to the surgery or taking time off work.
